old news
something i noticed about google reader -- i can't see a way to get rid of the old messages after you've read them?? i mean, i guess you're not really STORING them, and they do give you a way to search, but i just seems strange that you can't purge the ones you've already read from your lists. maybe i'm missing something -- either some functionality, or some fundamental rss knowledge... or it looks so much like email that i'm expecting the same things from it.

Google is pretty clever at making things look the same. I've noticed that too, and it confused me a few times. I use bloglines mostly, and they have a nifty box to check to "save this for later".
ReplyDeleteAt this point, it's like digital clutter.
As you say, you're not storing them on your local computer. The ones you've read are dimmed out, just like email, and the ones you haven't read yet are still bold. You can also "mark all as read" when they start to pile up too much.
ReplyDeleteyeah, i know you can differentiate between the ones you've read and the ones you haven't, but i would like it if i could make them GO AWAY once i'm done with them. as maura said, it's too much like clutter, and i find the effect off-putting.
